Griffin Frazen

Info

Griffin Frazen was born in Los Angeles and is based in New York City. He received his Bachelor of Arts from New York University and his Master of Architecture from Princeton University. He established his studio in New York to focus on cultural projects and private commissions. The practice works across architecture, installation, and performance, emphasizing material expression, spatial clarity, and a sensitivity to context. The studio doesn’t just use materials it thinks through them, focusing as much on craft and detail as conceptual clarity.

Recent work includes a series of built environments for the fashion brand KHAITE, contributing to the development of its physical identity through retail spaces and runway shows. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Wallpaper, Dezeen, Architectural Digest, and other international publications.

In parallel with architectural practice, Frazen has worked extensively in visual media. He received an Emmy Award for main title design and was recently nominated for an Art Directors Guild Award for his work on the Oscar-winning film The Brutalist. He has collaborated on performances and installations with musicians and artists including Thom Yorke, Solange Knowles, and Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never). He has taught architectural design at both Pratt Institute and Princeton University.

His multidisciplinary background informs a studio that moves fluidly between built form and broader cultural production.
